David Lawson Taylor retired pastor, youth leader, educator, department director, and administrator was born in Camden, New Jersey.

He is a graduate of Oakwood University 1957 with a BA in Theology, Pepperdine University with a BA in History in 1959, and a MA in Theology from Andrews University in 1960. He received his Doctorate in American Religious History from Vanderbilt University in 1977.

Dr. Taylor has served in the Southeastern, Northern, Central and Southern California Conferences in the Pacific Union Conference where he served as a Vice President. He also served as the President of the Atlantic Union Conference in Lancaster, Mass.Dr. Taylor served in the educational field as a Chaplain, at Oakwood University, Associate Professor at Pacific Union College and  Interim, Dean of Loma Linda Faculty of Religion which became Loma University School of Religion during his  service.

He was encouraged and motivated by his parents David and Eula Taylor. His, wife of 63 years, now deceased, Dr. Maxine J. Taylor inspired him yearly for the 61 fruitful and satisfying journey with their two children, Daryl and now deceased Cheryl Neal.

 Dr. Taylor doesn’t count the days to our Lord coming. He live to make every day count by doing justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly with God.
